Where the heck is RossMAN?

He's hosting fox302.com, and his server is broken, and I can't get ahold of him to fix it.

Fox302.com works fine for me

If RossMAN is using the same host as I am for Fox302 (I know he has a couple in his back pocket) - there was a recent cPanel X security hole - they were forced to take the server offline and their backup was 3 days old:

Recent cPanel release has a huge security hole that allows hackers to breach
into any cPanel system easily. As such, the security hole was discovered 3 days
ago and there was no patch until 27th Feb.

We have discovered our server was hacked on the day before the patch release and
technicians have immediately looked into the matter by cleaning up the Trojan
and applying patches.

After putting effort into cleaning the system, we went for a reboot that is
inevitable but the server did not return as according to CyberWurx, our OS is
trashed and require OS restoration. We thank you CyberWurx for promptly
assisting us in working on this matter.

For that, we are restoring the latest backup we have, which we have often
maintained, 3 days remote backup. We are retrieving all the data from our
Malaysia server now and hopefully everything will be done within hours. Once
cPanel has been restored, you may view your site, however, for those who are
running forums, please change your forum to read-only mode until further notice.

We have tried our very best to keep our server applications up-to-date, however,
we would have to wait for patch even though we knew there was a security hole in
cPanel, which the delay patch release has caused us this massive losses. We
sincerely apologize for this unexpected circumstance.

Took mine offline for about a whole day Thursday.

I know you said he's hosting Fox302, but do you know the name of the actual host he's using? (I'm going to assume UU since the 2 days you speak of coincides exactly with the incident I talked about below) If it is UU I'll shoot them an email but I don't know if I can help since I'm not the owner/host of the account. (They have been pretty lenient in helping people b/c this was a major disruption in their service)

I honestly don't know who's hosting it, it's changed hosts like three times since he's been hosting it, and I don't even know the name of the newest one.

A quick tracert to fox302.com and it looks it its hosted with UU. I'll shoot them over an email. What dns server(s) did you use for fox302? (I think he uses rossworx.com for his hosting accounts but I'm not entirely sure)

We use UU as our host for the company I work for (thanks RossMAN). UU got hit the other day (Thursday) through a security hole in cPanel and had to bring the server down to reinstall the OS.

They restored their remote backup and we were back up and going by Friday at lunch.

notfred - just shot them an email with the relevant details. Since Rossman is the one hosting the hotdealsaddict.com account, I have no idea if this will help, but I'll keep you updated. Make sure to PM RossMAN b/c he said he'd check in from an internet cafe every now and then.

notfred - got in touch with the owner - you're back up and running (they just finished reinstalling Image Magick) Test everything out and let me know if all is well. I tried a couple different accounts and all the pictures loaded up fine, but you know your site 10000x better than I do.
