I want to connect my CD-RW(Yamaha 8824E) and CD-ROM(Acer 50x) to the same IDE channel, can someone tell me that where should I put my CD-RW? Should I put it Master or Slave?

Ideally it should be master....a higher priority will hopefully result in less buffer underruns and coasters.

primarily primary...

most people's cdrw is faster than their old cd reader... so it's better to set it as primary and only use your old cd reader as secondary when necessary..

although if your cdrw is broken as mine is then you'd hope to learn how to fix it.. is there a fuse inside the cdrw??

I'd make it master.
I think I'm having issues becuase my DVD rom expects to be master on it's channel...so I might have to make the CDRW slave, but you don't have a DVD rom so I'd make the CDRW the master and the CDRom the slave.

I have my DVD drive on master and my 12x recorder on slave. Granted I've only made 3 burns so far (hey, its my first CDR drive), but i've yet to run into any problems.
