I have an ABIT KT7 RAID but I am only using ONE hardrive. Should I connect it to the regular Primary controller or to the High Point RAID controller? I want to take advantage of the ATA100. Can someone help me please with my hard drive installation problem??

Will I have the ATA 100 if I do that though?? I thought that the normal IDE controller was ATA66.

Go ahead and plug it into the RAID controller. I have
the 45 Gig IBM ATA/100 HD (and it's the only HD I have
in there) and it's plugged into that port. Works great.

I also put my DVD-ROM on the primary port of the regular
IDE controller and I put my CDRW on the primary port of the
secondary IDE controller. This way, those devices aren't
interfering with each other or the HD.

I'm going to add a second HD and I'm going to make it the
master on the primary IDE controller (it's only ATA/66) and
that's where a lot of my data will go.

Hey Magnum,

What are the BIOS settings you are using to get your 800 to 1000?

I haven't tried O/C yet but was thinking about it. Is there
a noticeable speed difference?

I just changed my bios from 8x100 to 10x100 and it worked great. However, I did have to connect the l2 bridges using a pencil and I also purchased a better heat sink and fan for better cooling.
