Interesting, I didn't realize that quad shielding isn't always the best. When we had digital cable TV installed Adelphia ran some thick-ass coax to a couple of our TVs, and that is the kind of cable I'm looking for. You could easily beat someone to death with it.

Right now we have a single run of cable going from the west side of the basement up a heat duct to the 2nd floor of the house. We're up on a hill, and to the west are all the Cleveland TV stations. That cable line is rather crappy quality and picks up a ridiculous amount of EMI. Before I move out my parents essentially want me to rewire all the coax I can get to, so hopefully the upstairs TVs will get a decent picture quality.

I'll be driving by Home Depot on my way somewhere else on Tuesday (someone kill me now, I have to setup a new computer for my computer illiterate grandparents), so I'll stop there and see what sort of shielded coax they have in the store.
