where online could I buy a high end keyboard under $4000?

You can buy one with lead casing so the CIA/FBI/NSA can't see what you are typing from their spy satellites.

yeah you may want to edit the title, I first saw it and was like, wtf they make $4000 keyboards??? what are they, solid gold??

anyways, back to your question, my musician friends have rolands, if that helps any (probably not)

lol

I was thinking the same thing...

may be there are some keyboards that go over 200 bucks???

god I hope i never buy one

there is one I think, it is modeled over the old IBM ones

what I meant was a music keyboard

also I would want one that alread has the speakers built into the keyboard

I dont want to buy an amp

I personally own and Old. (ancient) Yamaha SY55.... The Korgs are nice... So are you meaning you want more like a full 88key electric piano? or you want a standard 61key keyboard? (or is it 62) Anyway, If you have 4000 to spend I would get the Korg that was posted above and get an amp.. You can't get better sounds then out of a professional level keyboard.. just my .02cents worth.

The only ones I have with speakers on them usually cost less than $400 dollars.

Yup, your best bet would be to buy a $3000 keyboard and spend the other grand on an amp, unless of course you want one of the Clavinova things...

Do you know what you want? If you are spending that kind of change I would hope that you know plenty about keyboards.

I really don't mean to sound condescending here, but if you have $4000 to spend on a "high end" keyboard and you're making a statement like this you need to either: A) Do your homework on keyboards B) spend ~$700 on a good Yamaha PSR-series and donate the rest to a save-the-music type charity.

You could go out and buy a Korg Triton or a Kurzweil K2500 or even a Yamaha Motif, but unless you know much more about keyboards (not pianos or organs, keyboards) than you're letting on, 90% of the instrument will never be used. I wish I had a dime for every amateur musician out there with more money than knowledge that bought one of the aforementioned keyboards because they "wanted the best" but ended up hating it because they had no conception of its capabilities.

Now, I say all this assuming you want a keyboard and not a digital piano. If you want a good digital piano, you can easily spend $4000. I would recommend going to a music store and trying out all the models in your price range and see which one you like best. There are up and down sides to each brand and product series and only you can determine exactly the features you want.
