What happened to the Kyro graphics cards?

I know they had issues, but the theory was very sound behind them. I had always kind of hoped they would step up and start to really compete for market share. Did they die off? Or just give up?

Imagination Technologies are very much alive and well in England making digital products like radio's etc. Their 3d division PowerVR already have a full dx9 gpu however it seems unlikely it will ever be released on the PC. PowerVR supply alot of the 3d gpu for arcade machines so your more likely to see their dx9 gpu in the arcade than on a pc which is a shame. 🙁
 
That sucks. We need more competition! And they had a different way of solving the problems assosciated with 3D rendering, which to me, was a good thing.
