Years back I was at some antique store and saw a cool plaster relief of knights charging into battle with lances drawn. It is in some sort of picture frame and I really liked the way it looks so I bought it since it was only $15.
I always wanted to find out what it's based on (if anything) and if there is any story behind it. There is no signature I can find on it and it's likely to be something from a mold but I would still love to know more info about it.
Just tonight I came across an image on the web that looks exactly like my relief, except theirs is painted while mine is all dull bronze/ non-colored.
But otherwise it's exactly the same relief as mine.
It was posted on some site talking about William Wallace and his battle with the English but I doubt that it has anything to do with that event since the knight on the far right is carrying a Prussian flag
Anyone seen this and know anything more about it? Maybe its based on a painting? What battle is it actually depicting? Or just some random fantasy art with no real history to it...
