where is the sysconfig utility in windows2000?

i use to use it all the time in win98se to remove startup programs. im new to win2k can someone help me plz
 
There is not one in win2k. I use the xsetup program and use the startup wizard in Xsetup to remove programs from startup in win2k. You can download xsetup here Xsetup download at its freeware.

If Win2000 is anything like NT4, then there is no System Config Utility...But you can Stop, Pause, and Disable a service in Control Panel > Services > [target service] .
 
I think he's talking about msconfig from Win9x. Win2000 doesn't ship with anything similar, but if you copy the msconfig file from a Win9x install over to your Win2000 \system file it'll work just fine. It'll pop up 3-4 error messages at first, just return through those and the startup tab will appear. Works like a charm.
