I just looked at newegg, its 229.00 with free shipping. I can throw an entire computer together even with the monitor and have under $30 for shipping, makes me wonder where you live.

Only other website I've ever ordered computer parts from is tigerdirect.com, although it's been a long time as I find newegg the better place to shop from.

Look at OP's profile - he lives in Puerto Rico.

OP, please put the point of your post in the thread title - common courtesy...

I have two ideas:

1. Quickly make friends with someone who won an X4 940 at an AMD promo event for Phenom II and convince him or her that you need it more. Total cost: lulz + guilty conscience = free. (that's how I got mine).

2. Buy it off newegg, ship it to someone in the states, and convince him or her to ship it to you via media mail. Total cost: $229.00 + no tax + free newegg shipping + media mail rate (~$3.00) = ~$232.00

Honestly, either of those would be difficult and/or a hassle to pull off. Might as well take a vacation in Miami and pick one up while you're there.

The only problem is that newegg only ships to the address on the credit I think. You need to send money to someone in advance for them to do that. Also, is there any penalty for shipping technology outside the country ?

Puerto Rico is a US Territory, so there's no problem shipping the stuff, except for cost.

Some countries - particularly in South America - are horrible. Argentina and Brazil come to mind, applying outrageous and inconsistent "tariffs" or forbidding import completely.
