PC Nation has the card for around $270, but reviews are 50/50. I'm temped to take a shot and buy from them, but is there a better (less expensive/more reliable) place to buy this card from? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

AA for sale/trade forums! No seriously, if you don't mind a refurb, you can routinely pick up a 9700 pro for about $228. They also occasionally have a regular 9700 for approx $173, and a AIW 9700 pro for $267. Keep in mind though usually these cards are barebone without any software or cables. I've personally never had a problem with a dead card there, but of course YMMV. Prices there include free fedex shipping, but you got to fork over tax in CA. They usually restock or add items around 5:45 pm (pacific time) so be quick with the refresh button then

or you could goto compusa pick it up @ retail and purchase the $40 "replacement warranty"

and when doom3 comes out you take it back and get the newest and bestest at no extra cost. :D

Check out the For Sale/Trade forum. A new 9700Pro goes for ~$250 (just sold one myself) and sometimes as low as $225.
