Where is the best place to get a used motorcycle loan?

I am not part of a credit union.

online? local bank? (I have wachovia, and in the past found them hard to deal with with these types of things..)

Is a 'personal loan' better than a 'used vehicle loan'?

I currently own a motorcycle I bought 4 months ago for $8500. I still owe $7500. My insurance is ridiculous (~$1000 every 6 months). I can buy a different type of motorcycle for about $5000 that would make me almost as happy, but insurance would be $260 every 6 months.

I still owe $7500, and want to trade bikes with a guy who still owes $5000 on his motorcycle.

Where is a good place online or wherever to get a motorcycle loan?

just see if you qualify to take over his loan... good luck selling the bike that you are upside down in though...

other than that your bank... motorcycle loans are VERY hard to get as they are considered a luxory item
sig loan at bank best way to buy a bike..
then you dont need full coverage either..

buying a used motorcycle is like buying a used condom...sure it'll still work but the guy before you has probably used it up already, put some nasty stuff inside, and more than likely is going to tell his friends how some sucker bought it. I say sell the current one, buy a moped, and wait till you can afford the bike you want.

Some banks treat a motorcycle loan as an auto loan. My Credit Union does...

They do but the rates are usually 5% higher than auto loans.

What I did was use a cash advance check with a low promo rate from my credit card. Something like 3% until the balance is paid, then don't charge anything else to that card (and don't miss any payments either or the rate with change to a default rate of about 22%; credit card companies are evil).

in the two forums I've posted a WTT ad in I've had at least 5 very serious inquiries.

There is nowhere (around here anyway.. you might live in BFN) that you can find a last year new zx6r for even $8k OTD. You might get a gsxr600 for that, but only because they're new for 06.

No offense dude but you're just blowing smoke.
