You can do that at your home too... depending on the software/web-stuff you're developing and what stage you are in that development team.

I'm talking about which region of the USA or elsewhere that offered the best and highest paying careers in these fields.

You'd obviously want one over the either. which one is it?

I'd want a job that I enjoy and that has a decent pay. If I had to choose though, I would choose money, not because I'm greedy, but because I will have a lot of student loans that I will need to pay off.

Also, make sure you factor in the cost of living when you guys offer suggestions please.

How much they pay you depends on what skills you have and what they need.

The cost of living also depends on how you want to live. Some people could live in NYC and spend only $1000 a month and enjoy it, but would you enjoy it?

If you don't have a lot of experience, the ideal place to work might be where there is a mentor that you can learn from.

Huntsville, AL is a great place for an aerospace career. Madison, AL is a top-notch place to live.

Yeah, as much as it seems like a bit of a joke, there are actually quite a few tech-oriented jobs around here. Probably not as much in the web programming field, but there are some. Curse Gaming's CurseForge division is based in Huntsville, which includes their C#-based Curse Client and the Curse/CurseForge website.

Northern Virginia / Maryland for Defense
Seattle and SF Bay Area for technology firms

and NYC for finance related stuff. this pays well but NYC is expensive as hell. a couple people I know at work are staying in their family homes or something, and are saving oodles of cash. you can also transition to the business side and earn even more $$ if you are so inclined.

as a job it's ok, but if you want to get excited about technology, look elsewhere.

Austin, TX and Raleigh, NC are interesting options as well.
