Do you mean ABA/routing number?

On the lower portion I believe it's BEFORE your checking account number? There's 3 things on the bottom of your checks:

Bank ABA/routing number.
Your checking account number.
The check number (e.g. 107).

Bank Number is the number expressed as a fraction usually near the actual check number. Thells what bank you are dealing with such as First Union and sometimes even the branch and state.

Routing number is the number on the bottom of the check.

That's what I'm looking for. When I filled in my last deposit slip, it asks for the bank number of the check. I never seen this before and I used to always just write in the check number in that space. I'm assuming it's the bottom 4 digits of that fraction correct?

Thanks for the responses.

When I fill out my deposit slips I use the whole fraction to identify the check I am depositing.

Thats how I was taught to do it many, many, many, many years ago.:(
