I've been here a while (a few years) and recently became a subscriber.
I have been a hobby beer meister for about 2 decades.
From what I've seen in other forums there is more than a passing interest in beer here at AnandTech, how about starting up a BEER forum???
(just a suggestion from someone who helps to FUND this operation.)

Not gonna happen. They're not looking to add any new forums in the near future afaik.

The thing is....I bet the majority of the population here may not be old enough to legally enjoy beer.

21 is a federal ruling. Sorta. The feds can not legaly say that you have to be 21, that power falls to the states. But the feds would not give $$ for roads without the legal drinking age in that state being 21. I was unaware of any states that did not comply.

yeah, in Idaho and Montana at least you don't have to be 21
You can buy pure grain in Idaho and Montana, and I believe in Wyoming and Arkansas.
Feds be damned!

RagingBITCH, are you kidding?
Do you do anything with computers professionally?
Anything at all?
If you say you do and you can still ask such a question then you are truly a fibber!!! ;):D;)

(edit, that was a bit harsh - edited to soften up the language a bit)

The drinking age is 16 here, but i saw what had to have been a 13-14 y/o at the bar the other day...

Anyway, exactally what would you talk about in a beer forum?

Good beers of course.

Of course someone who drinks Budweiser wouldn't know anything about that :D

Anyway, some day, I hope to have a design ready for "Sunner's Beer&Booze" over at sunner.com.
Sorry, couldn't help but advertising a little, of course with my design skills, it'll probably be done around 2005 :)

Based on the number of topics about pot in OT, maybe we should start a marijuana forum too?

Incorrect, you have to be 21 to drink in Montana. You may be thinking of 18 yrs old as the rule of thumb for having sex and not breaking the law. Except with sheep, you can pretty much buy your own pair of velcro gloves and go to town at any age.

all the threads would pretty much be of people claiming that they have the munchies all of a sudden

Didn't know you had a kind of your own in Canada, though there is a Czech version that's supposed to be very good.
Never managed to get my hands on a bottle though :(

Anyways, my remark was aimed at the watery stuff that's sold in the US ;)

I didn't know there was a certain age you had to be to drink. When did that come about?
