Where is that site that would let you know which parts were wrong in your PC if it crashes?

It went something like this:

1. Take out all components except MoBo.

2. Boot up and listen for X beeps, if you here those beeps precede to add RAM

3. If you get X then add X part

4. If you get X then add X part

ETC

I can't seem to find that site! Can anyone help me in the right direction?

I appreciate you wanting to be systematic. However, there is not much you can do with a computer if you cannot get to the BIOS and see what you're doing. I always start my builds with the MB outside the box and GPU plus one stick of ram installed. If no BIOS access, try a different stick of ram. If still no BIOS access, trade out GPU. Wash, rinse and repeat with MB and CPU. If you get to the BIOS, make any necessary changes and exit/shut down. Now install your HDD.

Are you building a new system or trying to troubleshoot?

P.S. I always thought the entire point of Mechbgon's site was what order to put "stuff" in.

OK let me rephrase. There was some guide that would help you narrow down which parts were good and which were bad.

Take everything out. Push the power button and listen for X things from your MOBO. If you get x things then your mobo is good. then you precede to add graphics card (for ex.). if you get display then add ram. if you get x then add HD. wherever your boot stops when you add parts, is where you have a problem.

sorry for explaining badly
