Let' see if I remember this correctly...

The UK is short for "The United Kingdom of Great Birtain and Northern Ireland"

Great Britain is the combination of England, Scotland, and Wales.

Well, "Where is Scotland" *is* a pretty stupid question, but "how is the UK made up" is a bit more complicated - I know quite a few brits who still get confused...

Just think of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as the equivalent of States within the USA - its close enough, and with devolution, is getting closer.

Ireland was colonized, but the south won its freedom in '21. The North stayed part of Britain, mainly due to the majority of the population there not being Catholics, but scottish protestants. Much of Scotland has a Catholic/Protestant divide almost as bad as N.Ireland, but with football teams instead of paramilitaries.

I really don't know what edro means about scotland descending down into Ireland though.

So, did Scotland ever occupy northern Ireland? Because I have also seen maps where Scotland is where North Ireland is now.

I mean, Scotland is where it is now, but it extended down into Ireland...

Maybe it was out of an old history book or something, but I know I have seen it.

Either you're thinking of Medieval Total War: Viking Invasion,

OR

You're thinking of the Scottish immigrants from Scotland to Ireland in the 17th and 18th centuries.

With at least 1 mistake.
The United Kingdom (including the Channel Islands, but without the Isle of Man) is a member of the European Union. The Isle of Man maintains free-trade agreements with the EU, but is not a member.
The Channel Islands are not part of the EU, they also have a trade agreement.
The term "England" is sometimes erroneously used by both natives of England (the English) and those outside our country to refer to the United Kingdom
I use it to refer to England and England alone, never to refer to the UK. I don't know of many (any) people who use it otherwise.

RENTON: I hate being Scottish. We're the lowest of the fvcking low, the scum of the earth, the most wretched, servile, miserable, pathetic trash that was ever shat into civilization. Some people hate the English, but I don't. They're just wankers. We, on the other hand, are colonized by wankers. We can't even pick a decent culture to be colonized by. We are ruled by effete arseholes. It's a shite state of affairs and all the fresh air in the world will not make any fvcking difference.

I should probably point out here that I'm english, but my dads scottish. 35-13 ;)

I was born in Scotland, as was the entirety of my family, except my sister. I've been influenced from a young age to be biased against the English.

A weedgie! No wonder your posts are so devoid of intelligence!
:D
I kid, I kid.

A Scot meets a friend at a train station and explains he's off to Glasgow on his honeymoon. His friend asks, "And just where is your wife." "She's seen Glasgow." the groom replied.

Please, that's a no brainer. Celtics own the Rangers.

*Now* we're agreeing on something :D
So when did you leave scotland?
