I remember when I had my pos x800 xt pe ,, I had to use 30 different drivers for things to click and work... then I got into modded drivers,, and got OMEGA drivers that come without CCC and I would install ATI Tray Tools on top of that and things were flawless. There was a time where everyone was almost giving Omega ATI drivers a try.

What happened to the guy over the years ?

ATI community desperatly needs OMEGA modded drivers... start a petition after we find OMEGA.. very nice guy. gl

He fell on some hard times with the financial crisis last year.. his hous got foreclosed on etc... so he stopped the development of Omega drivers.

I think AMD final version graphic drivers are great. I have a few bumps with betas here and there but that's to be expected. AMD drivers have been every bit as good as nVidia drivers I've used so no complaints here. Maybe these modded drivers vanished simply because there isn't a need for them any longer.

What exactly are you going on about? AMD drivers don't have the plaguing issues they used to and therefore hardly need any third party drivers to ensure they're working probably. x800 was many generations ago... in fact, i had an x800XL and an x850XT and even I didn't have issues with drivers back then.

What bothers me most is... you're currently running an nVidia GPU in your system, so why on earth do you care whether someone is developing third party drivers for a company whose products you do not even use. This sounds like it'll turn out as an all out flame war, and you're simply trolling. I also wouldn't be surprised if this thread gets closed, considering your posted material is usually lacking in any logic what so ever.

There was also someone else out there besides Omega that produced modded drivers... forget who though.

laptopvideo2go does (Or used to) release modded nVidia drivers. I've used them in the past, even on desktops.

I will say one thing about my AMD drivers, they alt-tab in and out of games a lot better than my nVidia drivers do. That's small potatoes but I do dislike the several second delay each time on my nVidia computer.

Haha... it has been a while since I owned an Nvidia card (GeForce 7900), but that was my big complaint about that card. When I would Alt + Tab out of a game I might as well have exited, because I wasn't getting back in. :) No such problems with my AMD cards, I imagine Nvidia drivers do not have this problem anymore, too.
