I am wondering....He seemed interested in getting to the bottom and I see more and more evidence everyday that this has to be a software issue. The mere fact that some ppl say they have issues with BF2 and others who swear they dont have them. I have seen in one thread a person list all sorts of games with issues and threads before ppl listing no issues. If it was hardware it woul have to be evident for all...

Just want to follow up on what AT thinks....

Well, I can say for a certainty that I do NOT have ANY issues like that. I have been playing 'Battlefield 2' for 4-5 hrs or so since I got my 3800+ x2 the other day and even running it at 2600mhz, I have no issues what-so-ever. And I did NOT do a reinstall of anything either. I am running a new Asrock ULI-1695 board and 3800+ X2. My previous installation was a Epox nForce3-250gb s754 and 3400+ Newcastle. All I did was un-install the old nVidia drivers, including the video drivers, and then I shutdown and put in the new hardware. Booted up and installed the new drivers. NO Problems at all.

I would think that if it was truly a hardware problem that I would experience it especially since my software installation is a few Months old. Hopefully this will shed some kind of light? Maybe not, but I figured I would chime in anyways :)

What you stated is my exact point...

I was just hoping since AT announced he wanted some info from users on this topic about 2 weeks ago, we would have some announcements of his thoughts....

I am not sure whether it matters or not, but I do NOT have the AMD X2 driver installed. Doesn't look like I need it :)

If AMD used the same (or at least very similar)... lets call it "code", that Intel used to make its HyperThreading usable, why would there be any difference or problem with AMD's dual core implementation?

I've not seen any PD problems reported... also, there is something constant on the people who are reporting problems: nForce chipsets.

The ones that have had no problems (usually) use a different chipset, such as an ULI or VIA.

That's what I've observed.

I had problems with some games a couple of weeks ago with my X2 4400+ (Started a thread on it)
However I found out (and reported in the thread) that it was CnQ causing the freezes in loading games.
This was with my A8V (Via KT800Pro), and once CnQ was disabled everything ran smoothly.
Weird.

I've just changed over to an Asrock Dual Sata2 (AGP/PCI-E) mobo and the CnQ issues have disappeared.
I'm still in testing phase with this board, but so far so good in games.
