Doesn't AMD have a budget processor (celeron equilivant) for their 939 boards they are converting everyone to?

Do you think they will be out in the next month or so? I need a budget processor for this computer business I'm starting and was really enthusiastic about using AMD until I found out they don't have their sempron in the 939 format yet.

I would hate to have to go to intel because of this.

Amd budget cpu = socket 754 sempron. Performance =939 a64. Amd wants to keep them separate, I guess to sell more motherboards when people upgrade.

My guess is that you won't be able to get your hands on a socket 939 sempron until amd introduces their new "performance" socket.

quit complaining, u can already get a 3000+ for $146 at newegg.com UR NOT A NEWB, AND YOU KNOW ABOUT NEWEGG, RIGHT? Budget = < 4000+ You get the same CPU for a lower price because of the defects inherent on the silicon itself. That's why it is possible to even overclock it. Also, Budget = Overclock it.

Overclocking an A64 (in case you were wondering...)

There's basically no competition at all from Intel in this area, so they have not released any budget 939 processors. All 939 systems currently out-perform intel, and until Intel releases something better, AMD is going to keep bringing in the $$ :) Good thing for AMD, bad thing for us :(
