Where is all the POWER that's supposed to be going to Seti Cavalry since the auction?

I thought there was supposed to be a huge amount of WU's being generated for TA_Seti Cavalry from the power pot auction.

I have verified my WU's are going into that account, I would urge everyone else who is supposed to be crunching to the account to check and see of your WU's are going in.

I only see about 85 WU's added since yesterday and there should be several hundred.

What's Up????:Q:confused::eek:

My guess is that the instructions were a bit short and people read them to quick.

First I think people only changed (user_info.sah) in one file in, the main directory, and didn't change the file in the cached sub directories.

Second I think that people didn't uncheck SETI Driver as per the directions and so the file user_info.sah information inside is changed back to their own user settings.

Weather create SETILog.csv effects anything I don't know.

Bruce

I'm going by this page http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/stats/team/team_3646.html and my name muttley__ and if I get many more above 141wu (possible Ok serve after effects) then I will look further but the above mentioned are mistakes I made.

At present I am using the SETI.TACUBE.COM server and it shows me with no new to my account but 15 for TA SETI Cavalry so I guess there is me and another person or 2 that have theres configured right. On SETI.TACUBE.COM there are only a handfull or so of people.

I think I understand your concern Wiz. My 1700+ @1800+ should do about fifty in seven days, so I'll crunch on the Cav Acct. on that machine till It has fifty in cache, then dump all at once to OK'S proxy. That should happen next friday night. Started crunching for the Cavlry yesterday btw. Or, I could put that acct. on some more machines & whip 'em right out. Makes no diffirence to me, they are all for the TeAm anyway. :)

As a side note, I would like to congratulate everyone who had a part in putting together this coordinated effort for Dave. You guys are truly awesome!! :D

I have 16 WU's cached and it looks like they're all set up right, with

type=user info
id=73633
key=1989307882
email_addr=
name=TA SETI Cavalry
url=
country=

I did delete all my WUs when I reconfigured to crack for the Cavalry and started from scratch.

Mine are going to pay TNOguy back and I know they are hitting his account. I think he is going to pass a few of his teammates with the boost :D

Yep, my bad. :eek: I should have been a bit more specific.

If you are using Seti Driver, you need to replace the user_info.sah file in each cache folder (1,2,3,4, etc.) AND the parent folder. For example, if you have Seti Driver installed in C:\SetiDriver, each cached wu lives in a numbered folder underneath C:\SetiDriver as such:

C:\SetiDriver
.\1
.\2
.\3

There is a user_info.sah in each numbered sub folder AND in C:\SetiDriver as well. All of the user_info.sah files must be replaced.

Hope this helps.

Except for the dual 700 PIII, all of my donated machines are crunching for SETI Calvary and sending workunits via TACUBE.COM. I have 3 clients listed but only one have IsOs in the name that being displayed. If you check the IP, the two other clients coming from cchono.com are mine as well.

I'll run SETI for the Calvary for 7 days on that dual PIII 700 as soon as it permits me to get it working again.:eek:

Sorry for the inconvenience:(

I think if you simply replace the user_info.sah without first stopping the client, it will still crunch for the last user_info.sah it's crunching for. I haven't tested that theory since I specifically made a separate SETI Driver directory for SETI Calvary on my system. Then I downloaded fresh workunits. I didn't want to mixed the workunited designated by a SETI Q for a particular user.

Right, I'm glad people are checking it out - I thought I saw someone estimate there should be more than 400 WU's per day generated and the 85 I see by seti team just doesn't reflect that expectation.

Couldn't someone write a batch file or something that would backup and save the current user_info file then replace all instances found and then afterwards change it back?

To make it simple it could have the requirement to be run from the seti driver directory. Then it would replace all instances in the current dir and all sub dirs.

Some people have 50 or more cached WU's on each machine, I have 18 so that was 19 replacements on each computer.

Be sure to check the list Here

Some power is going to TnOGuy for his share, some are cracking for the Calvary but on ECCP or RC5. Everyone else who has put SETI down I'm assuming is cracking SETI for the SETI Calvary.

If not, they need to! :)

Maybe I'm kinda dumb, but I found it much easier to just set-up another Seti folder under the Calvry acct. & just start clean.

Although, I didn't volunteer any machines for the crunching, I did donate some money. ;)

Actually, what I wanted to post here was a question of timing: not to re-open old wounds or anything, but has there been any resolution as to the issue of timing on the production of units for this auction versus "the race" with DSLR?? Perhaps I'm just blind, but I'm not aware of any resolution to that yet. :confused:

From the WU's crunched in the last day I have to estimate that there is about 25 Ghz cracking seti for the cavalry.

25 Ghz out of a total pot of over 140 Ghz. :eek:

I understand that several people are still crunching seti, even if they have not switched to the Cav, my personal probelm is that I switched and am dropping quickly in the team ranks while it is apparent that I'm in the minority. Sorry for this selfish note.

I know we have a lot of new users and some of them are big guns, and that is truly wonderful. I don't mean to be petty about this at all - I believe everything is working out for the best for the team.

If there is merely a misunderstanding about what people are supposed to do then lets get it cleared up. If the misunderstanding is on my part then lets fix that by all means!

Phiton, that's not dumb at all. Mine are running as a service so rather than change the service parameters it was easier to change the user_info files.

I just got back into town last night.
Starting just a few hours ago, my machines are crunching to pay TNOguy.
When they are done with that, they will work for SETI Cavalry.
I only pleged one week to the Cavalry but I'll leave them there for at least two weeks, maybe more, in case someone else can not follow through for whatever reason.

What was the problem with the timing?

I'm cracking away too, with the same userinfo data as what Mech is getting. The Tbird is pushing them out every 6 hours or so, but the Dual G4, according to OK's; hasn't put out a WU since last night.:eek:

I lost the MB on my primary server (dual p3-700@933), the replacement is in and if it works OK overnight I plan to switch all of my machines here at the house as a group sometime late tomorrow.

The situation has been rectified on my machine, and so I'll be crunching for 7 days from now. When I read the instructions I was under the impression that all we needed to do was shut down SETI Driver and replace the main user_info.sah, which I did, but obviously that hasn't worked, but it should now :)
