Hey people :)

I'm in a bit of a bind and I was wondering if anyone here could help.

I am going to be the pround father of a baby girl in about 2 month. We have gone and done the baby registry stuff at Target and Baby's R Us and we had been planning to hold a Baby shower on Saturday, September 28, 2002 at a friends Wedding Chapel. Everything was ok, but when I asked if the date was ok, she said that I would have to wait and see if someone was going to have a wedding on that date or not. If someone did ask for that date to have their wedding, I am basically S.O.L. I can't ask for a different date because the Hostess of the Baby Shower can only do this for me on September 28. I can't change the Hostess 'cause it's the best friend of the mother of my child.

Today, I was about to send out the invitations, but now I can't 'cause I can't even be sure if we will have some place to have the Baby Shower at. We were going to send out about 50 invitations, but we were only expecting about 30 to 40 people to show... if that. We were trying to give all the guests a months notice so they would be able to plan and possibly buy a gift.

I live in Hawthorne, CA

My Question is:
Does anyone know of a Cheap to possibly Free indoors place/room in the South Bay Area of Los Angeles, California, that I can have the Baby Shower at instead. Nothing fancy. We don't really have much money... and what money we do have is supposed to help support own baby. But any suggestion is better than nothing. I just need the room... I have the food and everything else. My mom is catering... :)

So far, I have called Hotels and the like, and found it kind of pricey. They wanted me to use their caterer.

Can anyone help me?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, but I am just going to cancel the whole thing. :(

My mom is getting mad at me and it's just turning up to be too much trouble.

Thanks anyways.

try the El Segundo Women's center. Had my sister's 15th birthday there. We catered it ourselves, not sure on price thought. It's on Mariposa across from the High School. Congrats on the baby.

We were hoping for something indoors 'cause we were thinking it might be kinda cold out then.
But thanks for the suggestion :)

oh no! your mom what does she have to do with it?

Is not this something for her grandchild why would she not want it??

Is this your first baby?

You and your wife deserve a baby shower and all the love and gifts that go with it.

Don't let your mom control this it will just be the start of many things to come w/ the baby. Trust me on this. Stand up and do this for you, your wife, and your baby.

If your mom doesn't like it she doesn't have to come. (not to sound harsh but just trust me do it now before the baby is born)
