Where is 1280x1024 in F.E.A.R.?

When I run F.E.A.R, the 1280x1024 resolution is missing! The highest available resolution is 1152x864.
Why is that?

I have a 6800OC.

Haven't played F.E.A.R. yet but in C&C Generals, if I want to have that option available I have to open the Config Text file for the game, and manually modify the resolution portion to 1280x1024,

That is so odd!

Does this mean everyone with a 17 or 19" LCD had to so this? Or, do people play at a resolution other than the monitor's recommended resolution?

Its an option to run at 1280x1024 on my system, I have a CRT moniter though so I think you correct that its your LCD's specs somhow limiting your options.. you'll get the best image quality running at your moniters native resolution whatever that is.

I'm using a 17" LCD and the options included 1280x1024 res :O

I'd try to find the config file and edit the resolution manually in there if it won't list 1280x1024 for you.

Did that come in the patch by chance? I'm certian it wasn't an option for anyone in the game by defualt and everyone had to edit the cfg file to fix it.

Maybe, but I can't be sure because I never ran the game without the most recent patch... its there in mine though & I never edited anything manually.

Edit: Just checked again to be sure & 1280x1024 is listed as an option.. maybe the patch version I downloaded was modified or somthing?

Are you running the demo? I'm not sure, but I dont think the demo has 1280x1024 support.

No, I have the retail game.
I played the game with a 17" CRT monitor when I first installed it.
Now, I am trying it with a 19" LCT.
I even uninstalled it and installed again. Still, no 1280x1024!
So, I had to edit the config file to get that resolution.

I installed the two patches (101 and 102) the first time and now after re-install.

Hmmm, I have 1280x1024 available too. Only applied one patch to the game not sure which one tho...
