if xp is the same as nt 4 and win2k in this aspect....
bring up a dos prompt...
convert is the command you want to use
do:
convert /?
so you can figure out the specific command you need

If I remember right, I think you can convert ONLY from FAT32-NTFS while XP is installed, NOT from NTFS-FAT32. Also, if you have a hard drive larger than 30 gigs, it won't let you do FAT32 even when you begin the XP install. Again, don't quote me on this, but I think that's the case.

Easy ,I did this with no problems follow this,

<< To change from FAT 32 to NTFS for more stability and security, open the command prompt and type: "Convert C: /FS:NTFS". Make sure there is a space between the C: and the foward slash (/). Once you press enter it will ask you for confirmation and press Y. Then press Y and enter once more to reboot. It will take between one hour and 15 minutes to convert to NTFS. Now you can set passwords for files and use encryption. This also works for windows XP Home. >>

Command Prompt should be in your start menu above start button (it`s like Dos).
