I tried WinDVD some months ago and didn't like it.
Now I wanted to try the new "WinDVD 3.0" to see if they fixed the parts I didn't like.
But, even though they limit playback on the trial version to 5 minutes, they also limit you to a 30 day trial.
So, this prevents me from trying later versions.
I tried wiping out all references to "InterVideo" and "WinDVD" in the registry, but somehow they've managed to find some secret place in the registry for the date.
At this point, I'm saying to myself "just forget WinDVD", but now I'm curious as to how and where they can put a date that is not in their area in the registry.
Anyone have any experience with the registry and expiration dates?
(it wouldn't even lead to any sort of piracy because I would still be limited to 5 minutes...)
