Wowza, those are expensive. I was thinking in the $450 range...not $550!! I guess I'll just be sticking with the 128MB AIW...no sense to go to 256MB at this point in time anyway.

I thought I read on Rage3D that they weren't going to go with DDR2, I might be wrong though. What about VIVO on these models (or on regular 9800 Pro's), is there such a thing?

Don't the Geforce FX cards use DDR-II as well? It may not be out for consumers yet for desktops, but it can be for video cards.

I doubt it will end up $550+, usually prices are higher before the actual release. $499 retail may be a price to look out for... $299 9700 Pro, $349 9800, $349-399 AIW 9700 Pro, $399 9800 Pro (replacing the 9700 Pro's former MSRP), $449 AIW 9800 Pro (replacing the AIW 9700 Pro's former MSRP), and the next step up would be at least $449 MSRP for a 256MB 9800 Pro, I'm guessing more likely $499 MSRP with a possability to have a cheaper non pro version, but because it would be so expensive I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see one, at least not any time too soon.

I believe that to buy a Radeon 9800 Pro 256 MB will only be proud but not extremely useful.

I believe that Radeon 9700 Pro or 9800 Pro 128MB will probably most of the game since none of the game have yet created by Direct 9.

Well, still waiting for the future
