Wow, are you a sore loser. You jump down my throat about what you "think" I'm paying someone in wages and then complain when I joke around? Hey, I got another old saying for you, "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen".

I didn't really lose, I said many times that I would like the Democrats to gain some seats because I do not think that it is good for this county to have one party controlling everything, no matter how much I might agree with the supposed stances of that party and disagree with the opposing party. That's rich and it seems to be the best response the "party of ideas" can come up with to explain their loss. You planned it this way, right. ;)

Umm...I said it before hand, I am not making this up. I said it in several threads actually. I was a diehard Republican a few years ago, once I saw what happened when they took total control I was disgusted. They got drunk with power and forgot what being a conservative is all about.

I didn't plan anything this way, I was hoping that Democrats would take some control and they did. I didn't necessarily want them to take as much as they did, but I still think it is better this way, as long as we have 2 years full of gridlock.

I really could care less if you don't believe me or think that I am making excuses, I said it several times long before the elections.

As previous posters have alluded - many "republicans" have been banned, although there were pretty darn few true "pure republicans" (CAD comes to mind as one). We all know the reasons behind this, it gets old discussing it, and it's not gonna change.

Folks seem to think I'm a republican/neocon, although last time I voted I voted pretty much anti-incumbent. Green for Governor (because the R candidate was horrible), R for Sec of State and Treasurer, Green for a couple other state offices, D for state rep (because he supported concealed carry - not really a D), R for judges (because I really don't want pussies for judges).

My posting frequency went down a while ago. It's kinda a waste of time :D However if any lefties feel they must try and force feed me some crow and think I'm "hiding", "bring it on" ;)

Which ones are you talking about? JEDIYoda and ProfJohn are the only two Republican and/or conservative members I can think of at the moment. One of them was vacationed and the other is still here.

EDIT: Well, it appears you're right about Pabster who has been posting less lately. Doesn't change the fact that most right of center members here were banned well before the election even became a hot topic.

Because you didn't say "on this board." You said in this thread, specifically "people calling PJ a shill in this thread." The fact is nobody in this thread called PJ a "shill", let alone "people" (plural), and while you might argue that Dave insinuated it, that's not what you said. Words have meaning, best to chose them carefully if you want people to take you seriously.

You're right, there isn't much "high fiveing" going on in this thread, ...
Cool. That was my point. Kudos for acknowledging it.

Now, from you,

"Show us the quotes of people calling PJ a "shill" in this thread" "The simple fact is you can't because you're whining about something you imagined"

Are you going to stand by your words or completely disregard what Dave said?
But now you're being dishonest, editing my quote to something you can attack more easily. Here is my full quote:
  • Show us the quotes of people calling PJ a 'shill' in this thread. Show us the quotes supporting your claim of 'this whole thread is full of all the liberal posters high fiving eachother on how great they are at running conservatives off'. The simple fact is you can't because you're whining about something you imagined.
Makes a big difference, huh? I've already addressed what Dave said, and you've conceded the second part of my comment was true. So yes, I stand by my words.

There are plenty of conservative, Republican, and/or Bush-supporting members here. In this thread alone I see Whoozyerdaddy, charrison, CaptnKirk (though not a fan of the Bush administration), Jaskalas, nutxo, JEDIYoda, Stunt, EagleKeeper, and JD50. (Apologies if I've mischaracterized anyone.) I've always considered alchemize to be one as well, though I see he says otherwise. I'll take him at his word. In any case, some of them are respected, others not so much.

If he was banned for being the typical ProfJohn, I don't agree with it. Sure his feelings were the polar opposite of mine, but he never attacked anyone and just stated his beliefs.

I thought this forum was all about debate?

Yeah, I rarely agreed with him, but don't think I ever saw him post anything that would be bannable...but then again, I don't read everything here, and I'm NOT a moderator...

CaptnKirk republican? Paleo I presume, otherwise I fail to see the connection. And if that is the case (paleo) it's startling to see how far right the republican party has drifted when CK appears slightly left of center.

He might as well go to the Oval Office and sit on his hands if he is going to continue the same agendas.

They mostly retreated back to freerepublic.com. I swear, some of them sound like Christmas was just stolen ;)

Seriously, this had to have been as much as a blow to them as is was to those who supported Gore in 2000 and see him lose with the popular vote, then have a near repeat in 2004 with Kerry and Ohio. I still listen to Rush and Glenn Beck every once in a while and a lot of the callers sound seriously depressed. Maybe us as Liberals should recommend counseling (like what Rush claimed we all did in 2004) :)

Hopefully the country can get back on track in a bi-partisan manner.

Well I suspect most have accepted the temporary swing of power in congress (instead of launching conspiracy theories about how it was stolen) and are waiting to see the democrats great plan after the first of the year.

I suspect they will do nothing but launch fruitless witch hunts in an attempt to position themselves for 08.

Personally I think that will backfire, as John Q public is sick of that stuff.
