Whatever happened to the good old days when everyone wore hats like this?
... or, am I the only one that thinks hats from the 1920's to 1940's kick ass?

I'm guessing the decline of hats also has to do with the improvements in hygiene... either way, it's a real shame.

i love the fourties... i find that era very fasinating... the war, the music, the way of living, the clothing. Hats were worn because everyone was always very formal and proper.
I think that it too bad that some sort of formality is gone. Women were women and men were men.
Most people actually blame it on Kennedy's not wearing a hat to his innauguration (sp?). It's simply a style and they aren't all that in fashion anymore.Originally posted by: russianpower

The hats declined with the depression--------just a theory
I guess the hats couldn't keep up with the fasion or maybe baby boomers didn't want to wear the hats that made them remember about WWII or the depression?

If I didn't have long hair I would wear a fedora around if I was trying to look nice. Having long hair I do look rather foolish in hats.
Indeed, although fedoras are pretty damn pimp.Originally posted by: piroroadkill
