Aloha - I've been following the eMachines M68** forum, reading everything I can find since it was time for me to finally get my first laptop. Decided that the M6809 was the best all around (for the money) and put my order in at Best Buy (no strore in Hawaii was had this puppy in stock - not that there are all that many computer stores in Hawaii - no Best Buy only CompUSA and some small locally owned shops) Anyway, rig arrived yesterday, set up a wireless router and here I am out on my deck surfing the net. And what do I find!!?? No posts for a week!! Are you all on vacation?

No problems to report, no dead pixels (that I've noticed),don't get bumped off my wireless connection (Yet!) - Of course, like everyone else, the 800 slow down on battery but I can live with it for most of what I do.

Anyway, if you are out there - Aloha from Hawaii!:D

I felt the same way! But after my wireless problems vanished, I've had no issues. The CPU drop down to 800mhz is caused by the Power Options, IMHO. It's confusing to me, all those schemes and how to lock or save them but it seems it requires a restart to lock them. Currently running 1.8Ghz

After building two PC's in a year and OC'ing both and trying to have budget systems (using Win Me on one and am about to load XP as Me is garbage) being handed a system like the M6805 is a piece of cake!
Very few issues

LOL the only way there's gonna be any more posts on the M680x series is if someone either figures out how to get the wireless card working under Linux or if they suddenly added overclocking/tweaking options to the bios. Or maybe if someone did a cool custom mod on the system. Otherwise, everything that has to be said has been said many, many times.... still love my M6805 :). If they threw in some tweaking options, that would just kick royal ass.

Well a couple of you

are still checking the forum. I guess you are (both) right - you've been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Nuff said about how cool this machine is. Thanks for the replies.
