Where has my Product Key gone????

Crashed today, just finished reformatting. Got to the screen that askes for the 98se Product Key, and I realize to my horror that the 98 CD is no longer in its original case with the Certificate and the Key. I remember hearing that MS has some trick to keep the number hidden so you can find it if you need to (and you own it). I installed it on my daughter's computer, too, and that installation is good, and I'm posting from there now. On her machine, is there anywhere the number is kept? I got excited when I remembered there's a number on the General tab of the My Computer/System Properties, but that one doesn't work. Any help???

Found it in my daughter's registry, thanks to a tip from the General Hdwe Forum. Whew....
