Hi. Just asking as I remember about a year back or longer, that the main site anadtech.com was usually updated every 48 hours at the latest and more often every day with a new article or review or something.

But recently in the past few months, it seems like the site is only has new stuff every 10-13 days on average. What happened Anand? Has Anand and crew moved on to bigger and better things? I know that Anand writes a lot of print-magazine articles and I think he's still a college kid, but would that explain a big drop off in the frequency of output for the site that put him on the map?

And yes, I know everyone will scold me for saying so, but I check Tom's every day as well and he publishes something new every day, never fail. And while I don't always agree with his reviews (particularly the ABIT IC7-G hack job), I sill enjoy his site as well.

Anyone have any ideas on this, or do I just need to get a life for even bringing it up. :D (Is this heresy in here?)

The computer industry is pretty dead. What's there to update?

nothing big is happening in the industry...things slowed down. No need for the updates really. How many shootouts of video cards do you want?

You'd think he'd be hiring to keep content fresh, wouldn't you? Maybe the site isn't making much money anymore and its been demoted in status from a business to a hobby site once again. And what's this I hear about a new West Coast lab? Where are AnandTech's offices (is HQ still in Raleigh?) And now that Anand's presumably graduated from NC State, what does he want to do with his life? I was under the assumption that he always wanted to do microprocessor design and was looking for a job with Intel, AMD or Nvidia?

The WCL is located in L.A. where me and my recently acquired lab rats work. :D HQ is still Raleigh, where Anand works out of, and where he's still attending NC State.

Trust me, Anand and the rest of us aren't going anywhere anytime soon, not even for a second. :)

I sent a PM to thatsright about this in reply to a locked thread in GH, but here it is for everyone to see:

We've posted 48 articles/reviews/guides in the first 5 months of this year (which ended a few hours ago). That includes content on CPU, chipset, motherboard, video, mobile, and storage (HD and optical). That's just slightly under one article every other weekday (we don't post articles/reviews on weekends, a common practice among hardware web sites like Tomshardware, HardOCP, etc.). But soon enough we will be able to post a review/article/guide every weekday of every month of every year. We are currently bringing on some very talented writers to expand the less frequently updated sections.

And yes, sometimes we will have finals (I have them in less than two weeks, Anand had them in mid-May) or mid-terms among other things that makes it difficult for us to post new content all the time.

Yeah, I remember when it was just Anand and we'd get a motherboard review every couple of days. Now, he has a whole team of people and there's only a couple of new articles per month?

Yes, getting the GH thread locked well I should of known better. Just got a bit careless. And I hope I wasn't stepping on anyone's toes or anything, by starting this thread. I still love AT & the ATF and I come here every day. Without ATF in particular, I would really be lost in setting up my next PC.

Another thing that I forget is that this site is totally free, and not a subscription based service. If that were the case, I'm sure a lot more people would be getting all riled up so to speak. But still hands down, the ATF is THE computing forums out there for anyone with a PC thought or problem.

And that's my little mea culpa I guess.:D

Is he SUPPOSED to put a new article up every day? He's not your personal hardware reviewer you know.

bah, it;'s all right cuz i dont really care. I only read about the reviews when something big came out or when i'm ready to purchase some new hardware.

With that said, to Anand and team members, good job and good luck with school!
