Where does windows update save dowloaded updates?

I tried to install an update from the windows update site (the newest Live Drivers V. 5.1.2541.0), and each time I try it causes an error. I simply want to know where these drivers are downloaded on my winXP machine so I can try and manually install them.

I want to know also. I have several machines and I dont want to download the same update again and again.
 
I found it.

These are the steps.

Go into Windows Update as normal.
On the LEFT panel, click Personalize Windows Update...
Then on the RIGHT check the "Display the..... Windows Update Catalog...."

Then back on the LEFT panel, click on the WUC under "see also"
Now, click Find Driver updates...
Sound...
Choose the operating system, leave the Manufacturer name as M$
under 'contains these words'...
type in SB

THen it will give find u the driver.
Add to the basket, and select a download path...
