where does vista store the recorded content?

I have vista installed on my 74 gb WD raptor, while i have two more 500 gb hds for storing all my videos, mp3s etc. But all the recorded tv files I have recorded with windows media center are on my 74 gb boot drive and i'm already out of space but I can't find the files to compress and move them to my other drives. Does anyone where they're stored, i tried searching the file names but nothing came up. Also, what format are they in and can i compress them with xvid or divx?

by default it seems to be C:\Users\Public\Recorded TV

or just search for recorded, search found it no problem
if it doesn't find it for you, in advanced search options click 'search non indexed locations'

I am presuming you mean recorded via Media Centre functionality? In which case just fire up Media Centre and check the options to see what it is set to.
