Where does the "atim" in "verbatim" come from?

taking a etymology type class and preparing for a test.... i'm guessing this is two suffixes rolled into one and mangled a little... but which ones?

thanks :)

EDIT:

found the answer on my own.... verbatim comes from totidem verbis, literally translated as "just so many words" (i'm pretty i messed up on verbis, but you get the point)

Yeah, they only offer latin 1A in the fall here though, so I can't take it this spring.

I took a year of latin my first year at university. It wasn't too hard really. It's kinda odd because you can re-order the words in each phrase no matter how you want and it will still mean the same thing.

Hankus domum rediit = domum rediit Hankus = rediit domum Hankus = Hank returns home (IIRC, I hope I didn't mess that up).
