Can someone tell me where does microsoft outlook express keeps my E-mail under windows 2000. I need to know in what files there are in because i lost all my e-mails. I did back my hole drive but i dont know where in my back up there in.

Windows store your emails in *.dbx files with their respective box name. So do a search for inbox.dbx and etc.

not familiar with 2000 but NT keeps it under your profile\application data... but I dono if 2000 still has profiles....

I've never actually tried to just backup that one huge file and then pop it back into the correct direction if i happen to format. Does that work? Because i've always used the "import/export" commands in outlook, although recently its been giving me these strange "unable to find MAPI" somethingorother errors and i don't know why. Oh well, there goes all my email 🙁

I have a follow up question to that. Where does Outlook 2000 keep it's mail and contact info because .dbx seems to be only for express?
