Where does dryer lint come from?

I just can't figure out where all that lint comes from? And it's always the color of whatever you're drying.........

Loose threads I think. Notice that lint grows more from fuzzy stuff, but not something like cotton denim.

While the Dryer Fairies are blowing hot breath onto the clothes to dry them, they expel hairballs (Dryer Fairies are like cats) while doing so. So lint is actually Dryer Fairie hairballs.

It's the abuse fibre particles from the washing machine that break off and turn into lint in the dryer...

The real interesting fact about laundry that I have discovered is that those lost socks in the wash return to you as belly button lint. Yep, that's where they went
