Where does a Mastiff Sleep?

I saw some mastiffs last year that were about 220lb. I'm 6' tall and the damn things came up to my chest standing on all four legs! The 8 week old puppies were already ~50lbs.

If you have the space & food for them, they are great dogs. Even tempered, great with kids, can pull your vehicle out if it gets stuck.

Ours is 197 pounds. Mastiffs are the nicest dogs. He acts like a 200 pound baby most of the time. He does have those "mastiff" instincts though so if he sees someone he doesn't recognize he'll give a nasty deep bark.

I used to work at an emergency animal hospital and someone brought int a mastiff one night that looked fine. It turned out that it got hit by a car. It got up off the ground and was perfectly fine. The car wasn't in as good of shape.

If anyone is planning on getting one, be prepared, they grow 20 pounds a month for the first 7 months or so.

DAMN thats a lot of food

Wonderful dogs!
My daughter has one. We "babysat" it a lot when my daughter lived down the lane.
Now she's married and moved 30 miles away!
PaPaw sad.

Very nice looking dogs. I think when I get a dog i'll get a Lab or something a bit smaller than a Mastiff :-x

My sister has 4 Great Danes that are inside dogs. They're prabably as tall as a mastiff but skinny so they really don't weigh that much. She rescues them from shelters and assists in their relocation.

Can't load the pics, but I have a Bullmastiff/Lab mix and she is definitely a lap dog. Loves to hug and cuddle. Granted she is only 85-90 lbs, but big enough that you know she is sitting on you.
If you can get around the size Mastiffs and Bullmastiffs make great family pets.
