Where does a guy get CHEAP dial-up access?

Something reasonably reliable. This service would be used maybe 2 hrs/day by somebody who at most uses AIM, surfs a few web sites and downloads e-mail.

if your looking for a mobile solution:

t-mobile air card (if your using a laptop). its $30/month, but you can use it anywhere on the u.s. t-mobile network unlimited data transfer. the speed can be anywhere from 30 k/s - 80 k/s.

another option is if you have a sprint phone (vision enabled handset), for an additional $15/month (subscribing to vision) you can connect your phone to your pc (need data cable) and get unlimited data transfer. i think that is a little faster than t-mobile, and its better coverage in most areas.

Yes, but they are still separate. NetZero has a much less intrusive e-mail component.

Anyway, I'd say get NetZero platinum ($9.95 per month) but only after taking a few precautions. Number one, learn how to supertrick (edit your hosts file) away the NZ adservers, just in case you "accidentally" get some popups you aren't supposed to get. Number two, download TweakUI from somewhere. (download.com has it) Aside from the various incredibly useful components it has a nifty feature I've found labeled "don't allow windows to steal focus". NZ has started to use in-OS popups to counteract people supertricking away their browser popups; this won't stop them but at least it won't be so disruptive. NZ is pretty good as far as compatibility and user friendliness goes, save for the little bit of desktop space it steals with the navigation bar it keeps on your screen at all times.

Urinal - assuming it's for you and that you're still in McKinney, I'd suggest ev1.net - I used them for over 2 years and they were pretty rock solid and fast. About $9.95 a month for unlimited.

I use Coppernet. It is nationwide, I have always found it to hook up fast, always over 48K no matter where I go. I pay $100.00 a year and it is not metered.
