Originally we tried to have our puppy sleep at the foot of the bed. I was unable to resist her sad whining and cuteness so she's been sleeping in our bed along side or curled up against my leg for the last 7 years
Both little rat-dogs sleep in bed with us. The smallest one, (yorkie mix) is usually under the covers, snuggled up to one of us...the bigger one, (pom/chihuahua mix) is usually laying between our pillows.
When I'm at work, she stays in her kennel in the garage. When I'm home, she has a bed in the living room, and when I go to bed, she sleeps in a doggy bed in the bedroom.
No sleeping in the bed with me because I've noticed she sheds all over the couch when she sits with me.
We have a peekapoo that sleeps on the bed at night. This dog is the size of a cat, and doesn't seem to smell like a dog. I've always had larger dogs as a kid, I don't think I want anything larger than this again.
One usually somewhere against/on the wife at night.
The other one usually comes in and stares at my sock/underwear drawer from the night stand until I open it up partially near the top of the dresser and jumps in it (The Penthouse), or pushes opens the bi-fold door on the closet and sleeps in there (The Boudoir).
Anywhere he likes.
I would like it if he slept in bed with me but he refuses to. Except for once in a great while. Shiba Inus just are not cuddly dogs.
My boy cat lives in the bathroom because he decided he liked peeing on the floor, and now his sister hates him. His sister sleeps on top of me, or pushed up against me. In summer, she gives me more space, but is still close by on the bed.
