Where do you volunteer? Hospital? Food bank? Elsewhere?

I volunteer at my local hospital.

I volunteer to post in a forum! That's the only thing I do for free, no kidding. I don't even smile or talk for free. Why should I do that if I'm not getting paid or that, right? But I do post here. For free. That's what voluntary action means I guess.

I volunteered at the Army Recruiter's Office once and wound up 10,000 miles from home with some sonofabitch trying to shoot my ass off! Needless to say, I no longer volunteer for anything.:p

I volunteered at a hostpital. We had to stuff thousands of christmas cards in envelopes that would be sent to less fortunate people. I don't remember exactly how it worked, but I'm pretty sure that's what they did with them.

I also volunteered making a hockey stat site for a small league. Haha just checked it and it still works.

I did a lot of little things here and there too. We need to do 40 hours to graduate high school, but I think it's a great idea. It was not hard, the site gave me 30 hours righ there... about 1 hour per update, there was 60 games, 2 per night.

I used to volunteer doing pickups for donations given to our local donation center. Sometimes we'd drop excess items off at Salvation Army. Lots of driving and lifting.. was fun though! I did it one summer during high school cause I really didn't feel like wasting my time doing nothing, and I wanted to actually know I did something worthwhile.

i volunteered at a homeless shelter once on thanksgiving day, all i got was complaints; "it's too cold," "the food sucks," "could you buy me something," and some guys attempted to steal. what ungrateful bastages...i won't ever volunteer again.

i did also get many "thank you" too, but for some people...evolution just hasn't caught up *sigh* :frown:

You guys have that much spare time? Sheesh. I have to volunteer just to find time to do my laundry! :(

Wow, guess I shouldn't be asking this on a comp forum then :)

Pre-medders like myself need volunteer experience.
