When I first move to the united states at the age of 8, I lived in New Jersey.. where I took ESL classes, went to school, met friends, etc.

i moved around that tri-state area.. so I think I talk like a New jersey person mixed with some FOB accent

Ugh, New Jersey, what a useless state. I don't think I have an accent, I don't have the obnoxious South Philadelphia accent, but who knows, maybe I'm just used to it.

I'm half and half. I grew up in Louisville KY. so I can drawl if I need to, but when I was thirteen I moved to Chicago and have all the nasal a's and inappropriate plurals

I used to have a very indistinguishable accent from growing up in a military family, and basically living everywhere when I grew up - but after being rooted here in the South for a couple of years, I've got a tinge of a southern twang that pops up every once in a while. It's scary.

I only affect a Southern drawl when I'm talking to my cousins who live in North Carolina. It's quite humorous to go down there.

unless Oregon has an accent and this is it. but I can't remember Oregon having an accent.

Parents. Born with an East Coast / Boston accent for some reason, I guess I've gotten over it though.

I'm relatively accent free, but then again I've never heard myself coming from someone else's view.

I do tend to mumble if I'm half asleep though, which seems to be often.

When I first came to Canada, people said I had a British accent (I emigrated from India ... ).

I moved to US 4 years later so Americans say I have a Canadian accent, the Canadians say I have an American accent, the Indians say I have a "white" accent and I tell all to fsck off ;)

Oregonians have an accent. Everyone has an accent. The most common accent used in Oregon is called Standard Midwestern. This is also the most common accent used in California, and hence in Hollywood movies and on the TV news, so people come to mistakenly think of it as "accentless" when it is not.

the weird thing is that I'm the only one in my family with it ;)

my mom and sister both have solid Jersey accents, while my dad has his Canuk accent. heh.

(as a child, I felt this lent a lot of weight to my theory about being adopted. lol).

Aren't New Jersey accents just wannabe New Yorker accents?

I spent the first 18 years of my life in NJ before moving to MD for school (still here at 23). People can't really place me, unless I purposefully bust out the over-the-top Jerseyness.

I think that a New Yorker (Brooklyn) accent applies to a lot of people outside Brooklyn.

Hmm... Jersey accent *shudders*

People in the PacNW tend to mix in a touch of Southwestern accent (the farther away from the cities you go, the more you hear) so they'll have kind of a cowboy twang and say "y'all", etc.

The ironic thing to me about people who claim that Midwestern is "accentless" English is that they don't seem to realize just how harsh it is compared to other accents, and how different. Midwestern speakers hit those consonants hard.

None I guess.

I grew up in Utah, Spain, Turkey, Nevada, Boston, Colorado, finally living in Oklahoma.

Maybe have a little bit of an Okie accent, but seriously I'd have to say next to nothing on me. Too much stuff for one to have stuck around.

People pretty much say I don't have one too.

Funny though after a month in Boston that sucker sticks for a little bit.
