I used to have a very indistinguishable accent from growing up in a military family, and basically living everywhere when I grew up - but after being rooted here in the South for a couple of years, I've got a tinge of a southern twang that pops up every once in a while. It's scary.
Oregonians have an accent. Everyone has an accent. The most common accent used in Oregon is called Standard Midwestern. This is also the most common accent used in California, and hence in Hollywood movies and on the TV news, so people come to mistakenly think of it as "accentless" when it is not.Originally posted by: loki8481
I didn't. with the exception of a couple words (watah, caufee), I have an accent-free voice.
unless Oregon has an accent and this is it. but I can't remember Oregon having an accent.

the weird thing is that I'm the only one in my family with it
my mom and sister both have solid Jersey accents, while my dad has his Canuk accent. heh.
(as a child, I felt this lent a lot of weight to my theory about being adopted. lol).

Aren't New Jersey accents just wannabe New Yorker accents?
