I have a filing cabinet with a file dedicated to my vehicle stuff only.
There is no such thing as a friendly DMV office. That place is hell on earth and there is no way to get anything done in one trip... :|Originally posted by: RossMAN

Yep
If I had a free & clear car title I would keep it at my bank's safety deposit box (which I don't have one - although I should).
But what if you sell your car on a Sunday at 3PM? You are leaving town, the buyer is willing to pay OVER your asking price but demands the title be signed over to them? You're screwed (although you could offer a bill of sale).
