I live in a small town tucked in the north west part of the USA. Its two story house. It has 3 bed/2 bath. Kitchen is upstairs with a nice wrap around deck for mingling and viewing the outdoors. The back yard is fenced for my dogs and at the edge of my back yard is a sort of cliff that leads down into a river sized creek that is fun to swim in in the summer. Across the river/creek In the trees is a family of bald eagles which I see every day. They fly over our house and teach their young to fly.

Where do you live?

i live in a subdivision in southern mississippi. the place where i live is nice but if you go into areas a few miles from here you start hitting the land of the hicks. 2 story house in the best area in town. ONe of the only 3 guys that has broadband in the neighborhood, so we got the trunk line all to ourselves

Small city that's only known for cheap trick and the big brother phone in vote scandal a few years back. My condo is on the outskirts of town, large deck and back yard. The back yard ends with a brushy treeline and a creek. Over the creek is a large open grass lawn with a few fir trees and a parking lot. The lot is for the budweiser distribution center.
The front is mostly constructions, a lot of new houses and condo units being built.

I live in a small town of about 6,500 people. The only thing we're known for is Phil Harris being from here (voice of the bear in the Jungle Book cartoon movie thing). Our house isn't really that big, it's got 8 rooms, one large family room and another medium sized one, my room, parents room, sister's room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom. About 3-4 minute drive to town but it's still considered a rural area. 2 acres of land, about 15 trees in our yard altogether.

Small Rural Town 4 hours North of Minneapolis. Some people from Minnesota dont even know where its (Bemidji)

2 story ranch house with a deck, surrounded by 3 acres of lawn that I have to mow, the best part is I have 20 acres of wooded area that I have been able to carve out trails.
I believe we are the only house in Minnesota that does not have lake attached.

I live in the middle of suburbia in a "starter" house that goes for too much $... but that's the price you pay for living near NYC I 'spose. I'd rather try out San Diego at these prices... :|

Large city (2 million in the metropolitan area) 45ft * 120 ft lot with a two story 2600 sq ft house and a 2 car garage.

My dad bought it for 26,000 in 1966 (I got it in 1996) and it's assessed at $325,000 last year. Market value would probably be around $490,000 :D

Cheers,

Gated Community, all the houses are located on the golf course, and another that isn't in the subdivision is about 20 mins away.

I live in a 5,600 sq. foot (counting garage) victorian type house. There's three storys, the bottom one is a half basement (ie, one side is under ground, the other side has doors and windows and stuff). The basement is the more "modern" part of the house, we have computers down there, the big screen, a sort of mini-bar, pool table, etc.

The middle floor is the same size as the basement, and is where most of the "living" type stuff is (the kitchen, most of the bedrooms, dining room, the main living room, etc.)

The third floor is about 800 sq feet, used to be sort of an atic, but we finished it off so that now it looks just like any other room. This is my area, sort of my bedroom, plus a small area with chairs and a TV, and my main computer and stuff...

We just had a pool put in the back not too long ago... I had pics, but they're lost somewhere.

I guess that about sums it up :)

sounds like a pretty nice house...

i live in a pretty nice neighborhood in one of the nicest cities in Georgia (Peachtree City)...

We have a 3 story house, half-basement, main level, 2nd floor..

basement is completely finished, with about 800 sqft of tiles, and another ~200 sqft carpeted bedroom.. there is a ping pong table room, weight room, full bath, and a living room down in the basement... i live in the bedroom down here..

parents live on the main floor, along w/ the kitchen, living room, and formal dining room....
top floor includes 3 more bedrooms and a full bath... both siblings have moved out, so all 3 bedrooms are empty now...

Well my house is a large home.. 3000 sq ft maybe.. 3 car garage.. but its my mom and her husband's place. I get the entire basement, which is 4 rooms and a bathroom, so its pretty much an apartment. We're in a 1 year old housing development, with a huge racial/age mix, but everyone has a decent amount of money. Uber suberbia too :)

North-Eastern New Jersey, about 5 miles outside of Manhattan (NYC).

medium-sized Victorian-style house. 3 stories. 5 bedrooms (including my parent's bedroom in the attic and my bedroom in the basement), 2.5 bathrooms, eat-in-kitchen, pantry, large dinning room, living room, tv room, and sun room (plus three 10x15 rooms used for storage... one on each floor; they looked like they were kinda stapled onto the floor after the house was already built). frontyard is pretty small, but the backyard is big enough for a good sized garden, pool, hottub, shed, and 1-car garage.

A two-story home built in the early 1900s, 3 bedroom, and hardwood floors in a lovely community that puts the hill in hillbilly.

A town so well managed that for the past 8 years, a gym coach was the mayor. So well protected that we have 3 whole police officers, and so radical that the local newspaper has a large rebel flag on the cover...

Did I mention that we are looking to move?

I live in Bloomington, IL, a town of about 65,000 people and home to Illinois State University and Illinois Wesleyan University. It's a great town, I moved here 5 years ago from FL.

I bought a 90 year old house and have been working on it ever since. It's in great shape, I just completed restoring the front of the house to it's original configuration. It's about 6000 sf with three stories and a two car garage on the back.

Here's a before picture: Before, with tacky porch

Here's a picture taken last week. I removed the porch, a fence and some landscaping. Repainted, added awnings and a new fence/gate on the side.

As of last week.

Here's a picture of the arbor gate and fence. I built the gate from plans I ordered from Norm Abram's website.

Very nice!

my house is in BFE missouri

a farmer back in the late 80's/early 90's decided to build some houses on part of his land. so each winter for the past 10-15 years he has built a house, now there are ~dozen houses that make up the neighborhood, each has ~3-5 acres of yard/land

there are several ponds in the neighborhood, i guess the water table is quite high here
