Where do you guys usually buy your appliances?

The house I just bought has a diswasher that's leaking and will have to be replaced. I actually am sortof happy to hear this as I'd like to get a nice one. I have never bought a durable good before aside from a mini-fridge for my dorm so I'm looking for suggestions. Also, anyone want to suggest make/models?

Lowe's for me. I've had great success.

I think you should look at what they have and make a decision based on what you find.

I buy from Sears. Their price matching on similar (not exact match) items rocks, and their appliance dept. kisses your a$$ so much that you feel like the King of England when you walk in the place 🙂

Check with your local appliance stores. They usually have more ability to work with you on the price than the major stores like Lowes or Sears. YES, they will usually price-match on the EXACT make & model, IME, and you usually get the better deal, while supporting a local business man, rather than the big corporation.
We recentl replaced our gas range. We did the shopping thing for a couple of weeks, and were able to beat the Lowes & Sears prices by about $200. on the range, paid $0 delivery fee, about half on the installation, and less than half on the extended warranty. Sears service has gone down hill since they were bought out by K-Mart a couple of years ago. We hace a few Kenmore appliances, so we have to deal with them rather frequently...
Check with the local guys...Many will even get close to matching or beating) the prices from the big internet appliance places like AJ Madison...ours sure did.

very true - got a great fridge/freezer from them for the new house and it was very cheap too.

I just got some LG window airconditoners. I'm hoping for the same luck. Lots of great suggestions here... I too am in the market for a dishwasher.

Bump.

Holy crap... I just noticed that I bumped my own thread....

Just read about some guy in HD that got a $1300 for half price at BB because it was open box. Might want to try there.

Home Depot, Lowes, Sears.

My dad has bought from Sears since before I was born, and they've always treated him right. I try to support Sears for doing so, and so far they've always treated me right.

Yeah but there is no king of England. What does that tell you?😉

I picked up a 14.1 cubic foot upright deep freezer from Sears recently. Sweetness.

Yeah, I was that guy. I can live without a box for that kind of savings. And the thing doesn't make any noise, my last dishwasher screamed like a brush chipper.
There are a lot of "good enough" dishwashers on the market, if you don't mind a plastic tub and lots of noise. The big price jump happens when you go to a stainless steel tub, and a lot less racket. Those can be had for around $700, from there on up they mostly just add bells and whistles.

I like Sears for the way they treat you. I've only had to have one of their repair techs come once, but he was on time, had everything he needed for the repair even though it was a very old model treadmill, and he got the job done quick and right.

I also like Lowe's. I've found some good deals there. They have a good variety of brands and styles and when they deliver it they do a good job with the installation.

I loved Sears, especially for price-matching on appliances. Unfortunately, my local Sears closed 🙁
I'm also in the market for a new dishwasher... at least at my local Home Depot, they're closing out several models. If you're looking for a really nice model, there's an LG stainless inside and stainless outside for around $770 including tax. Or, you can buy a much cheaper dishwasher for about $200. FOr the most part, they do a decent job too.
