Where do you guys throw away old cases?

I need to get rid of some old cases that i will never end up using. I tried to toss them out inside my recycle bin, but the guy said were not allowed to throw that in.

So, i had another case that was made out of alu. Tried to take that to a recycle spot, and they looked at me funny and said CAN's only.

So Im asking you guys, WHERE do we toss these things out and have it NOT be harmful in some land fill? I would like to recycle it idealy, but i also DONT want to pay for me recycling it.

PS. NO im not expecting any money back. I really just want to recycle it so it becomes somethign else in the future, and not a landfill.

Were I live if I sit anything metal on the curb it is gone in a few hours. The scrappers take it. Big money these days with the war and bad weather!

There is not a place that accepts scrap metal? During the hurricane people tool old sheds and garage doors etc to the scrap places that pay by the pound.

Speaking of which, I have like 4 or 5 old cases sitting in the back room at work lol

They do that here, but i guess no one is interested in empty computer cases. I tried that and it litterally sat otuside for 2 weeks.

hmmmm unless your talking about the junk yard, i havent seen any local. Infact the only junk yards i can think of are more twords cars.

I cant believe the recycle place didnt take my chopped up Lian Li PC-7A. <incase someones wondering why i choped it up, it was to make an external watercooling box. I failed horribly> :T

Post them in FS/T freebies. Or even FS/T. I'm going to be looking for a AT or ATX case here sometime for an old machine. But I have to find out if it's AT or ATX. (It's an old P2 machine--I'm converting one my crack rack machines to an 3dfx gaming machine [and cruncher]).
