Tylermartin. They have an Ebay store that I get mine from. Search on Ebay for Tylermartin1.
It depends on the brand of printer, but for my Canon 1500, the cartridges are <2$ each.

The USA five star ink tanks from Tyler-Martin (sold thru TM's USAInkjet store on eBay) are good for Canon/Epson (better than the Rainbow brand they sell thru the TylerMartin1 store on eBay), but since you have HP, you are stuck with buying refurbed carts or refilling your own (you should be able to refill at least 5 times before the head wears out beyond re-use). I got a complete set of tanks for my Canon iP3000 from USA for $12. shipped

. Computer Friends has always sold quality bulk ink and refilling kits. Universal is decent too but IDK if they are still in biz (used to see their ads all over - one would have thought that they were the only refill company out there - don't see their ads any more at all). Yup, Universal is still around - http://www.kalvins.com .

. But I'll be going with swiftink.com for my next ink tanks if USA can't convince me that they have improved their inks since I last bought. They are considerably less intense than OE inks - whereas the tanks I was buying for my i450 were at least as intense as OE ink, if not moreso. You didn't mention which carts you use, but swiftink seems to have a good selection of HP carts for considerably less than OE.

. If it were me, I'd use that all in one for scanning and get a Canon iP3000 for printing (can be had for less than a set of OE carts for your HP right now) and you'll save a ton on ink over the life of the printer (unless you are willing to go the self-refill route on your HP).

I was about to suggest the same thing. Pick up a cheap laser printer and use it for printing and use the all in one for everything else. Unless you really need the inkjet, laser printers are much cheaper on a cost per page basis. Figure one cartridge that costs roughly as much as a new printer to replace (I'm talking about the $100 printers here, not the high end printers) will print 5000 pages easily, the cost per page is down around 2 cents per page. If I recall correctly a HP ink cartridge in my old desk jet printer was good for someting like 200 pages and new cartridges cost about $30, that's 15 cents per page. Unless you do a lot of photo printing or other printing that demands an ink jet just buy a cheap laser printer for your heavy duty printing needs. When the toner cartridge runs out just buy a new printer for $100 instead of spending $90 on a toner cartrdige and you'll get a new 1 year warranty plus a full toner cartridge.
