Where do you go to retreat from the Information age?

I goto starbucks, buy a coffee and relax for a few hrs (no Tmobile wireless sub). i either bring a book/mag to read, or buy a newspaper here.

What/where do you go to retreat from the Information age?

Either go fishing, dog park, or chill by a lake or somewhere more nature oriented.

I honestly think this deluge of information that we are exposed ala the Internet is too much for the human mind.

 

When the weather's nice, I bike to and from work. It gives me an hour each way of enjoying my commute from a whole different point of view.

To a friends cabin in the mountains of North GA, not TV no Internet not people except the SO and just go hiking to waterfalls or driving through some of the national forest or scenic highways.

Skiing in New Hampshire or Maine.. some technology around but I ignore it while there.

can't remember the last time I was cut off from everything. Between the amount of info flowing through at work and being attached to the Blackberry after work, makes it a bit difficult.

I live by a pretty big lake so I go out and night and sit at the end of the pier, all you can see if the lights of the cities on the other side, the breeze comming of the lake and the waves hitting the rocks. awsome place
