Personally I have found the neighborhood Shell stations makes good coffee :) The coffee place in my work building makes a good mug of americano too. I really can't stand
Starbucks coffee but I do like Blenz as well.

If you think you make better coffee than any other place, share your brand and methods :).

<edit>How could I forget Tim Horton's :)</edit>

There's a sandwich/bakery type chain here called Panera Bread, and they have the best hazelnut coffee...yummy!

Dunkin' Donuts also has great coffee, esp now with the extra large size :)

I drink Starbuck's and Duncan. Neither is great. I like Peat's too. There are a lot of cafes around my way.

I forgot to add... The best coffee I have ever had was from a bag that my Aunt bought me when she was in Columbia! It was in a non-labeled brown bag but man was it tasty! Nothing has been half as good as that coffee... I hope there weren't any other special beans in there :)

Citrix - Lots of variety there! I have always wanted to try Ethiopian (sp?) coffee since they are the inventors of it. I might purchase some of their Columbian coffee. Hopefully it will be close to the Columbian coffee I got from my Aunt!

I roast it myself everyother day.
It is easy.
All you need is an air popcorn popper.
I order my green coffee beans from Tom at http://www.sweetmarias.com.
I have been dealing with him for years and he is a super guy.
Costa Rican La Minta is my favorite.
The Kenyans are also very very good.

Once you start, you will never go back to pre-roasted coffee again.

Kenyan AA rocks!

I ran out one day after about 3 months of drinking Kenyan and my wife bought some maxwell house. damn i never realized how crappy the commercial brands taste. it was horriable, very bitter, very acidic and not much flavor at all.

Holly cow!! I never thought I would see someone else buy Coffee from this site!!

Cool !! I totally agree the commercial coffee we get in the stores sucks, especially when you've tried other foreign brews.

Make that two votes for Baroness!! :) Just waiting for development of the "Virtual Frequent Flyer Caffeine Card"
(Local coffee shop discount card)

I live in Seattle; I have my pick between two or three coffee shops per block. My favorites? Allegro, Solstice, Tony's and Stewarts (when in Bellingham), and The Ugly Mug. :)

African coffees are the best, but I prefer Etheopian over Kenyan any day.

Barista(coffee maker) for Starbucks here..

I like the bucks because its free and tastes good. However, Tim Hortons has superior coffee in some aspects.

I like coffee beans from Gevalia. I get them whole and MILL them myself. I mill makes a much more consistant grind than those bean bludgeoners. Anyway, fresh, cold, filtered water, freshly milled beans in a cone type (Mellita, Krups, Salton) (I use a Krups.) Best bean I ever had was the Gevalia Limited Edition Chipinge from Zimbabwe.

When it's a lot of coffee to make (guests over) I like plain old Eight O' Clock whole bean, milled by the pot. A lot less expensive than the Gevalia. I prepare it the same way.

Other styles I like (in order of preference);

Kona, Jamaiican Blue Mountain, Costa Rican Peaberry. I hate Folgers, Maxwell House etc etc etc.

Roasted coffee is stale after about a week after it is roasted, whether you grind it or not.
Most people have NEVER had fresh coffee.
It is an order of magnitude better than any stale coffee.
I had Jamcan Blue Mountain Mavis Bank today and yesterday because my GF wanted to try it, but man does it sux.
Granted, since I roast it and it was fresh, it was better than most, but pales in comparison to LOTS of other varieties.
Do yourself a favor and go to SweetMarias and just buy a pound of green beans. If you don't have a pop corn air popper and don't want to buy a roaster, just use a skillet. But, at least try a pound of green beans.
