Where do you get your network cables?

Where do most of you people get all your cat5 network cables?

I need some network cable fast, so I wanna buy local, but I dont feel like spending $12 for a fairly short cable at staples.

I buy at "Jimmy CAT5 Shack", but it is in my local.

I make them. I've got about 2000 feet of cat6 from a dumpster and I use cat 5 crimpers on it (really tough, but... w/e). It's nice to get the legnths you want whenever you want them.

Check Hot Deals - there are often mail order places where you can get patch cables cheap in bulk. Unfortunately, like all cables, the usual suspect stores have a huge mark up and rip you off badly.

It's hit or miss if someone near you sells cheap patch cables.

If you want to mail order then you can get them for under $1 a piece depending on the length.

I ended picking up some cables at Home depot. Not cheap but it was better than Staples.

Online seems to be the way to go, but I needed my cables fast.

Graybar; they have a local warehouse and customer counter. I usually stop in there every couple of months whenever I'm setting up a new network and need several dozen cables. They have 'em in all colors; I usually get anywhere from 3' to 50' (set sizes of 3', 7', 14', 25', & 50'). Anything other than that, I'll go to somewhere like Home Depot and buy a spool of CAT5 + ends and make it myself.

Look around for a electronic parts outlet store (not Radio Shack tho). If you can find a real one they usually are great for getting the little parts real cheap. There is a store here in Houston called EPO that is great for all the little stuff.

GRAYBAR RULES! There is a GRAYBAR warehouse about 5 minutes from my office, we get it all there.
