I am sort of ashamed to admit I pay $10 to a woman that my mom still goes to. Before that I went to a barber who charged me 5 bucks. I think 10 bucks to cut my hair is pushing it, since im only in the chair a few minutes.
I use a clippers and do my own in the mirror. 1/8" on the sides and back, 1/4" on the top. The back can be tricky for people who aren't used to doing it, but a little practice and it's fine.
I don't trust those $5 walk-in places. Never, ever will. I have my hair longer than most people and even when I get it cut it still requires a good deal of skill.
Same barber for the last 20 years. 9 bucks. I just sit in the chair and he starts cutting. About 10-15 minutes later he is finished and I'm out the door.
I used to get it cut at the place my mom went for 12 bucks, but now im on a college campus and everywhere is $18+. Pissing me off I since it only takes 5 minutes to cut!!
I usually go to Cost Cutters or Style Masters - but I've started letting a friend's friend start cutting my hair. It's better - because IMHO he gives me an honest opinion on what will work, plus he just came to me to cut my hair. He doesn't charge - but I gave him 25 bucks last time.
