Where do you buy your Windows OS from?

What would be the best place to buy Windows OS 7, 8 or 8.1 professional?
It is hard to determine if they are legitimate.

I got them all through my Microsoft TechNet subscription before they ended it. I have them all in ISO files, 32 and 64 bit.

Which ever of Amazon or NewEgg has the best price on it at the time. Amazon usually has the best deal.

I bought all my windows OEM CDs (at least 9 of them from the days of Windows XP) from Newegg. But I see better prices online and some of them have US addresses as well. Still not sure if they are really legitimate.

Is there an equivalent program now for the average Joe? I had subscribed and got a bunch of keys but I let my subscription lapse before they ended the program when my interests went in a different direction for a few years.

I wished I'd maxed out the number of keys I was entitled to especially on Office software. Hindsight, it's painful sometimes.

I guess it is better to get Windows OS on the official website of Microsoft...

It is very easy to purchase or download anything computer related (hardware and software Mac or Linux) other than Microsoft Windows OS. Buying directly from Microsoft is the costliest option, Newegg and Amazon are slightly cheaper. But there are websites with business addresses in the USA that sell Windows with prices only half as much, but they may not be legitimate in the eyes of Microsoft.

In the end I am going to install Linux.
